People within the organization need to understand
the importance of electronic discovery planning.
Their involvement can save the company time and money
if done correctly. Sanctions from the courts and
company wide negative image campaigns can be avoided
if a detailed plan is implemented. Commitment
from the top of the organization communicated down
to the people implementing the electronic discovery
plan is extremely important to the success of the
plan. Once the plan is implemented the organization
will need to be trained, and annual refresher courses
and audits of the process should occur on a regular
basis.
